This is a 50 minute Learn-To-Skate program designed for children 4 or older. The basics of forward and backward skating, stopping, turning, jumping and spinning are taught by Professional Coaches and assisted by trained Program Assistants. CanSkate is the feeder program to all other Skate Canada skating programs.
Skaters are grouped by ability and age, are evaluated regularly, and progress through the six stages at their own pace. Successful completion at each stage results in a badge. Trenton FSC has chosen to run the new CanSkate Program, in which the Coaches run the program with circuits. This keeps the skaters moving 90% of the time. It is a fun, interactive way for your Skater to learn.
**Skaters up to and including Stage 5 must wear a CSA approved helmet**
